Welcome to the Fixed Core Tribe!

The Fixed Core tribe is an integral part of the TDO Network. As a member of this team, you'll collaborate closely with the entire Fixed Core tribe to design, manage, and support our core networks and internet traffic across various KPN entities. Your contributions will help us provide invaluable support to our KPN end customers and their network needs. To ensure an optimized end-user experience for KPN services, we are always on the lookout for the best internet connectivity options with our peering partners.

By maintaining and continuously innovating our networks alongside your team, you'll add tremendous value with your passion, craftsmanship, and results-driven mindset. As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll be responsible, with your team, for evolving KPN’s current network into a future-ready, state-of-the-art system. Your primary focus will be on keeping the networks in top condition, ensuring operational management around the clock. This means you'll also participate in a standby roster to guarantee operational excellence 24/7.

About You

Requirements

Join Our Team as a Network Engineer!

Are you an experienced Network Engineer with a knack for working within a DevOps organizational model? If you are a result-oriented individual who thrives in challenging environments and has a passion for collaboration, we want to hear from you!

You will be a valuable addition if you possess the following:

  • HBO working and thinking level.
  • Extensive experience in network engineering with a focus on design, testing, and operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of networking, including routing & switching, TCP/IP stack, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, DHCP, IPv6, and EVPN. Familiarity with Nokia, Cisco, and Juniper is preferred.
  • Proven experience with Python, along with a passion for programming and a readiness to learn new languages.
  • Good understanding of automation using tools in a test-automation pipeline, such as Ansible, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • Strong knowledge of network security methodologies.
  • English language skills in both written and spoken forms.
  • Solid experience with carrier-grade network equipment and IP networking in a telecom operator, as well as an understanding of service provider technologies.

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of the internet landscape, including transit providers, peering, and internet exchanges.
  • Experience with traffic engineering, configuration, and operation of MPLS and BGP reroutings.
  • An agile mindset along with knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and other Agile working methods.
