Job description

Your Architectural Vision and Consultancy Skills are Essential for Delivering Target Architecture on Sustainability!

You and Your Job

As the external architect within the Wholesale & Rural Business Architecture department, you are responsible for delivering the Target Architecture on Sustainability for the Wholesale & Rural domain.

Sustainability is an Important Topic for Rabobank

We have committed ourselves to the Paris Climate Agreement, not only for our own operations, but we also want to help our customers achieve their own ‘road to Paris’. That said, sustainability is also a domain that is still undergoing rapid developments, including new and upcoming regulations, the way we collect and process sustainability data, and evolving our business models.

We therefore need a flexible architecture to cover our current and future needs across our entire Wholesale & Rural portfolio, which spans 27 countries globally, including a variety of business lines from Rural Lending to our agricultural clients in large markets like the US, Brazil, and Australia, to Project Finance where we finance large projects, such as building new wind farms.

Your Collaborative Role

You will work collaboratively with the W&R Business Architecture team (15 FTE), alongside other architects within Rabobank and a variety of stakeholders within our business and other departments. Your aim will be to gather information on the various initiatives already running, assess the requirements we have as an organization, develop a compelling and future-proof architecture, and subsequently communicate and convince all stakeholders that this is the right path forward.

Together We Achieve More Than Alone

We believe in the power of difference. Bringing together people's diverse perspectives is what makes us an even better bank. We are very curious about what you can contribute to our team at Wholesale & Rural Business Architecture.

As a Business Architecture team, we aim for an integrated approach that combines processes, IT, and business to find sustainable, future-proof solutions and deliver business value for our organization and our customers.

Architecture Department Overview

The more than 90 people in the architecture department are responsible for the development, maintenance, and enforcement of the IT strategy and architecture of Rabobank. This ensures an effective long-term direction for IT in support of the bank’s strategy—considering commercial, efficiency, and risk perspectives. Working together as one effective team at Rabobank is central to our mission.

Speaking of Rabobank, we are a Dutch bank operating in 38 countries, serving over 9.5 million customers. Together with these customers, our members, and partners, we strive to create a world where everyone has access to enough healthy food. In the Netherlands, we work towards creating a country where people are satisfied with how they live, work, and conduct business.
