Daarom wil je als Cloud Platform Engineer bij NS werken

• Je verbetert en optimaliseert hét datafundament van NS.
• Je levert geïntegreerde oplossingen voor data opslaan, verwerken en delen aan data en business teams.
• Je begeleidt junior en medior teamleden en verhoogt hun vaardigheden, met name op het gebied van Terraform en Databricks.
• Je draait mee in de operations van het team en helpt om dit zoveel mogelijk te automatiseren.

De huidige strategie van NS is: “Samen maken we Nederland duurzaam bereikbaar. Voor iedereen.” Data speelt een hoofdrol in al onze processen en is volop in beweging. Binnen de afdeling Data Innovatie & Analyse (DIA) werken teams samen aan het centrale dataplatform voor heel NS. Onze afnemers gebruiken services zoals Snowflake, PowerBI, ADF en Databricks.

Dit ga je doen als Cloud Platform Engineer

NS zet stevig in op data en daarbij speel jij een belangrijke rol! Afdeling DIA heeft als strategie om NS datagedreven te maken en bewustere keuzes te maken met data. We zijn op zoek naar een Cloud Platform Engineer met Python & Databricks kennis die zorgt dat het team, verantwoordelijk voor geïntegreerde oplossingen voor data opslaan, verwerken en delen, naar een hoger niveau wordt getild.

Samen met andere Cloud Engineers werk je op de Azure Cloud omgeving en zorg je dat NS-data wordt opgeslagen in het datafundament en eenduidig wordt ontsloten. Daarvoor stem je af met data en business teams om te bepalen wat de beste oplossing is voor deze teams.

Globaal heb je de volgende verantwoordelijkheden:

• Ontwikkelen van nieuwe én onderhouden van bestaande producten/services.
• Integreren van de services Snowflake, PowerBI, ADF en Databricks.
• Afstemmen met data & business teams om te bepalen welk platform product/service nodig is.
• Het efficiënter en gebruiksvriendelijker maken van de data opslag en het data delen.
• Een goede samenwerking aangaan met de andere platform teams.
• Coachen en opleiden van teamleden wat betreft Cloud Platform Engineering, Python & Databricks.

Welkom in de wereld van ‘DIA’ – Data, Innovatie & Analyse bij NS! DIA telt op dit moment ruim 300 medewerkers. Hier werkt een mix van ervaringen en persoonlijkheden, die elkaar graag opzoeken om met elkaar te sparren en kennis te delen. De afdeling geeft (interne) gebruikers snel en betrouwbaar inzicht om tot juiste acties te komen door het verzamelen, combineren, analyseren en presenteren van informatie. Je werkt in een agile team samen met andere Cloud Platform Engineers.

Deze opdracht is alleen geschikt voor kandidaten die in loondienst zijn en waarvoor loonbelasting en premies volks- en werknemersverzekeringen (WW, WAO, WIA en ZW) worden afgedragen. Deze opdracht is niet geschikt voor zelfstandig ondernemers en professionals (waaronder zzp’ers) die zichzelf uitlenen.

Dit zijn de eisen

• Minimaal een afgeronde HBO/WO opleiding.
• Je hebt minimaal 3 jaar werkervaring opgedaan als Cloud Engineer op een dataplatform in een Azure Cloud omgeving.
• Je hebt ervaring met Terraform en Infrastructure as Code.
• Je hebt ervaring met Databricks.
• Je hebt uitgebreide kennis van het Azure platform en de mogelijkheden daarvan.
• Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden, zowel op technisch als business vlak.
• Je hebt ervaring met programmeren in Python.
• Ervaring met Snowflake is een pre.
• Ervaring met Azure DevOps pipelines en ontsluiten via API’s is een pre.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
