Data Scientist Insights Transaction Monitoring

As a Data Scientist Insights Transaction Monitoring, you provide data insights and build automated pipelines and workflows regarding the Rabobank transactions of over 8 million customers. Your work enables colleagues to make data-driven decisions in catching criminals.

Preventing money laundering and terrorist financing is crucial for our society and organization. As a bank, we play a major role in this area. To effectively combat financial crime, we need smart individuals like you who thrive on diving into data, patterns, and customer behaviors to uncover illegal activities. Alongside your team, you will be responsible for delivering insights about our current Transaction Monitoring (TM) system to optimize it further.

This role demands both technical and analytical skills, along with expertise in visualization and communication. When done effectively, our operational analysts can concentrate on true positive alerts, thus spending their time on truly value-adding activities. In summary, you will be on the front line of fighting financial crime.

Top 3 Responsibilities

  • Create and improve pipelines for tuning, lookbacks, and impact analyses, combining various complex TM model components effectively.
  • Perform analyses from start to finish: intake, coding, visualizing insights, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Design and develop dashboards from front-end to back-end in production to facilitate rule tuning, development, and daily detection insights.

Practical Examples

  • Estimate the impact of proposed parameter changes in the TM model on model efficiency.
  • Enhance and optimize workflows to allow for tuning of even more parameter combinations.
  • Build dashboards and collaborate with platform squads to bring them to production.

  • A TM rule performance dashboard to simplify optimization of TM system rules.
  • An overview dashboard to provide more insights into our TM system.
  • A transaction dashboard aimed at developing new TM rules.
