Vacature: DevOps Engineer Cloud Native bij KPN

Functieomschrijving

Voor KPN zijn wij op zoek naar een enthousiaste DevOps Engineer die zich wil richten op het ontwerpen en bouwen van de fundamentele infrastructuur waarop andere engineeringteams en klanten kunnen voortbouwen. Je zult medeverantwoordelijk zijn voor het automatiseren van de inrichting en het beheer van KPN’s hybride cloudplatform, zodat snelheid, betrouwbaarheid en schaalbaarheid gewaarborgd worden.

Je taken omvatten onder andere:

• Opzetten van Infrastructure-as-Code
• Configureren van grootschalige clusters voor netwerk-, opslag- en compute-resources
• Integreren en onderhouden van open-source componenten binnen een continu ontwikkelende technologie­stack
• Samenwerken met collega-engineers om oplossingen te realiseren die aansluiten bij complexe en specifieke uitdagingen
• Ontwikkelen en verbeteren van tools die de efficiëntie van teams vergroten, waaronder CI/CD, build pipelines en kerninfrastructuur
• Meebepalen van de roadmap voor de ontwikkeling van platformcomponenten en het bewaken van de technische koers
• Actief bijdragen aan het definiëren en behalen van technische standaarden en doelstellingen

Vaardigheden

Ervaring met distributed systems en Linux-systeemtechniek. Grondige kennis van infrastructuurtechnologieën zoals virtualisatie, containerisatie en cloud computing. Programmeerervaring met talen die compileren naar machinecode, zoals Golang of Rust.

Ervaring met het bouwen en verbeteren van compute-, storage- en dataplatforms, onder andere met Kubernetes. Praktische kennis van infrastructure-as-code en automatiseringstools zoals Terraform, Ansible en Helm. Ervaring met het uitbreiden van infrastructuur-automatisering via de Terraform Plugin Framework of Operator SDK’s.

Sterke probleemoplossende en communicatieve vaardigheden, nodig om complexe platformvraagstukken effectief aan te pakken.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
