The Role of the Windows Dev/Ops Engineer

As a Windows Dev/Ops Engineer focused on Automation and Security, you are the central link between the Solution Engineer/Architecture teams and the Delivery (Operations) teams for automating deployable and secure infrastructure. The position is part of the Global Windows Engineering team based in Utrecht and London.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and build automated solutions within the team, and to deliver proposed architectural changes to the Windows operating system to meet our customers' needs. A typical day begins with a Daily Scrum, where you work from home or in the office. This is followed by developing automated OS delivery, developing solutions, addressing automated security challenges, resolving OS-related problem tasks, and delivering product enhancements using innovation.

Your Technology Stack

Good Knowledge:

• Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system
• Several years of experience in a large (5000+ servers) complex infrastructure environment
• AUTOMATE YOUR WAY OUT OF EVERYTHING
• Experience with Ansible, preferably Ansible Automation Platform or Tower
• Experience with security tools, preferably CyberArk
• Strong PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge and experience with scrum/agile working
• Resourceful, flexible, analytically strong, and critical when necessary
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• High proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English

Additionally, it is important that you are familiar with everything in the checklist below:

• Experience with GIT, automated testing
• Experience with cloud management solutions - vRealize, Azure products, CI/CD
• Continuous configuration automation and desired state configuration
• Active Directory
• Design, develop, and create implementation strategies for Windows products
• Produce design and operational documentation to a high standard
• Actively leverage new technology to enable Rabobank to innovate, integrate, and reduce costs
• Third-line support for Windows products and services

With you, problem-solving skills, communication skills, delivering results, and innovation are clearly essential for the role of Platforms Windows Dev/Ops Engineer.

Knowledge of ITIL and Agile Scrum

Working Conditions

This job role is split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a 75%/25% distribution. Some changes are planned outside business hours to minimize impact on the business. This job vacancy is for the location Utrecht (NL).
