Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Developer on the Omega team, you'll be instrumental in designing and rolling out backend solutions that are not only scalable but production-ready. Your work will directly empower customers to keep tabs on their energy usage. We're talking about leveraging the power of .NET and Azure to build cloud-native systems that truly drive innovation and deliver significant business impact. You'll be working hand-in-hand with fellow developers and key stakeholders, contributing across the entire stack with a practical, hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain essential backend services using .NET on Azure.
• Craft clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, complete with proper documentation.
• Make smart, informed technical decisions regarding performance, scalability, cost, and reliability.
• Implement event-driven architectures to ensure super-efficient system communication.
• Take ownership of features from start to finish: from discovery and design right through to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Champion best practices in code quality, security, and performance.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and complete solutions.

You'll also be a key player in architectural decisions, skillfully balancing business needs with technical excellence. Your input will be vital in ensuring our solutions are secure, scalable, and built to last for the future.

Practical Information:

• You'll need to be in the Amsterdam office 1 to 2 days a week. Wednesdays are often the team day, but this is something that can be discussed within the team.

Functie Eisen

We're looking for a seasoned backend developer with a solid track record. If you've got 7+ years of backend development experience and a deep understanding of .NET Core and C#, you'll fit right in.

You'll be a fantastic fit if you have practical experience with Azure services, including Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, App Insights, and Container Apps. Plus, having worked with event-driven architectures and messaging systems like Kafka would be a huge plus!

We also value experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and containers (Docker/Kubernetes). Basically, if you're comfortable building and deploying modern applications, we want to hear from you.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
