This DevOps Engineer role within the Engineering & Enterprise Tech, Storage Services team sounds really interesting! You'll be diving into supporting, designing, implementing, automating, and testing IT infrastructure and engineering applications.

The main focus is on the security side of things, specifically for ransomware protection and recovery. It's all about building and maintaining a largely self-sufficient environment that can help the bank bounce back quickly from a ransomware attack. The goal is to get affected systems into isolated "clean rooms" where they can be analyzed, cleaned up, and then restored to production environments efficiently.

Your responsibilities will cover protecting and recovering both application data and infrastructure configuration data. Expect to work with cutting-edge technology, strong security measures, and a lot of automation – these will be core parts of your day-to-day job. Basically, the environment you help build is the ultimate safety net for Rabobank's systems if a ransomware incident occurs.

Because the "Cleanroom" environment is so critical, you'll need to be adaptable, knowledgeable across various technologies, and have a really curious mindset.

Here are the key areas you'll be responsible for:

• Driving infrastructure improvements and new developments in infrastructure security, recovery, and automation.
• Supporting and optimizing security and recovery for our compute, converged, storage, backup, and archive environments. This is a massive operation, handling 21,000 VMs and nearly 20 PB of data across Europe and the Americas, supporting countless applications and millions of customers.
• Sharing your knowledge and continuously learning. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary, international team, collaborating with various services within the department.

On top of that, you'll be specifically tasked with ensuring the Cleanroom systems meet all security standards. You'll also be providing day-to-day support for the Cleanroom environment, which includes managing incidents, problems, and changes.

You're envisioned as an experienced, versatile "T-shaped" engineer. You'll be working closely with a small team of equally skilled experts to expand an existing ransomware recovery solution. This solution is designed to act as an autonomous bootstrap environment, capable of rebuilding components of the bank. The solutions you develop will need to be practical, supportable, performant, and compliant.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
