We'd love for you to join the Periodicity team! We're all about making transaction data richer by finding those repeating, periodic patterns. As a Data Scientist on our team, you'll get to boost model performance, automate cool processes, and fine-tune algorithms to unlock even better financial insights. This role is perfect if you enjoy diving deep into statistics, have a knack for analysis, and understand the business side of things.

Here are some things you'll be doing:

• You'll expand the time-related features for our periodicity detection model.
• You'll deliver production-ready code as part of an end-to-end team. This team includes fellow Data Scientists and ML engineers, with support from a business analyst, scrum master, and a dedicated product manager.
• You'll brainstorm and discuss innovative ideas with your team, leveraging your strong understanding of our analytics landscape.

• You'll be collaborating with over 20 Data Scientists in the area.

Your top 3 responsibilities will include:

• Helping shape the future of our model through thoughtful design, high-quality code, and seamless integration with IT, Architecture, and Business.
• Driving improvements in model performance.
• Leading all phases of the MLOps lifecycle.

Contract Details:

• Duration: August 3, 2026 - July 30, 2027, with an option to extend.
• Location: Croeselaan office in Utrecht.
• Work Schedule: Office days are Monday and Wednesday, with 1-2 additional flexible days per week.
• Employment Type: Full-time (1 FTE), 36 hours per week (minimum 32 hours considered).
• Start Date: As soon as possible.

Functie Eisen

We're looking for someone with a strong academic background, ideally a Master's or PhD in Data Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a similar field. If you've got over 5 years of experience diving deep into advanced analytics, modeling, or AI, especially with big data, that's fantastic!

It would be wonderful if you're comfortable working with Python, PySpark, and Git. Experience with Azure Databricks would be a lovely bonus!

We'd also be thrilled if you have experience with time series analysis and making predictions – it's a definite plus!

More than just the technical skills, we're hoping you're:

• Structured and precise in your approach.
• A great communicator, able to connect with all sorts of people and roles.
• Pro-active and have a real focus on the business side of things.
• Someone with a "can-do" attitude!

And of course, excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are a must.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
