You and your role

As a Medior Data Scientist, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced Generative AI solutions that bring significant value to our customers. You'll be right at the forefront, creating AI-powered systems to tackle complex challenges, streamline operations, and uncover new possibilities. We're looking for someone who can really immerse themselves in data, work with generative models, and build solutions that are both scalable and responsible. You'll be part of a squad dedicated to driving the adoption of GenAI across various departments within the bank, co-creating these innovative solutions hand-in-hand with our stakeholders.

Functie Eisen

Here's a bit about the technical skills and experience we're looking for:

• We'd love to see at least 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
• You should have solid programming chops, with Python being your go-to. Software engineering experience would be a fantastic bonus!
• The ability to write clean, reusable code is definitely important.
• We're looking for someone with great product sense – someone who can really grasp business challenges and turn them into data science solutions. A pragmatic approach that prioritizes impact over overengineering is key.
• A good grasp of NLP and LLMs is essential. Experience building Generative AI applications would be a huge plus!
• You should be comfortable with the full model lifecycle: developing, evaluating, deploying, and monitoring. Experience with LLMOps/MLOps/DevOps in production (cloud) environments is highly valued.
• This role is right at the crossroads of Data Science, Generative AI, and Engineering. Because of this, strong engineering skills are super helpful. Think experience with Git, CI/CD, ETL, cloud platforms like Azure (or similar), API development, containerization, and working with both relational and vector databases.

And when it comes to soft skills and leadership, we're hoping you bring:

• A natural curiosity and a knack for working with clients.
• Genuine excitement about diving into business needs and figuring out the best technical path forward.
• Fantastic communication skills – being able to break down complex ideas and build rapport across different teams is crucial.
• A real passion for building solutions that are clean, well-organized, easy to maintain, and thoroughly tested.
• Enjoyment from collaborating within a cross-functional team (think Engineering, Product, Business folks!) and building connections across different teams.
• Experience leading technical projects, mentoring others, sharing your knowledge, and championing best practices.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
