Hey there! So, you're looking to step into a Senior Data Scientist role, and it sounds like a really exciting opportunity within a cybersecurity team, focusing on AI-driven Identity & Access Management (IAM). The main goal here is to beef up cybersecurity defenses and get a much clearer picture of tricky security challenges by using AI and analytics. A big part of this will be managing digital identities and access to important systems securely and effectively.

Your mission will be to spot and prioritize where AI/ML can make the biggest difference. You'll be building models to flag things like unusual user behavior, odd access patterns, and potential security threats. It's not just about creating models, though; it's also about making sure they work well, getting them out there, and ensuring these AI/ML solutions are scalable and ready for prime time. This means they're looking for a seasoned pro who's not only a whiz with Data Science but also has solid software engineering chops. You'll need to be able to take the reins from the very beginning of a project all the way to the finish line.

What you'll be doing:

• Figuring out, evaluating, and ranking the best AI/ML use cases for cybersecurity and Identity & Access Management.
• Creating machine learning models to detect weird user behavior, suspicious access patterns, and potential security threats.
• Building, testing, and deploying scalable AI/ML models so they can be integrated into cybersecurity platforms.
• Developing AI, LLM, and advanced analytics solutions.
• Diving into areas like prompt design, getting structured outputs, and setting up evaluation and monitoring systems.
• Getting analytical solutions into production, with a strong emphasis on making them easy to maintain, thoroughly tested, and following good software delivery practices.
• Independently owning projects from the initial discovery phase right through to the final delivery.
• Working closely with engineers, cybersecurity experts, and business stakeholders.

Assignment Details:

• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• Duration: Until September 30, 2027 (with potential for extension)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
• Rate: Maximum €110
• Contract Type: Independent Contractor (ZZP)

Selection Process:

The interview process involves two rounds, each about 30 minutes long:

• Round 1: Technical Interview on September 17, 2026.
• Round 2: Behavioral-Fit Interview on September 18, 2026.

Functie Eisen

We're looking for someone who's really skilled in Python, PySpark, and SQL. It's important that you can write code that's not only clean and easy to maintain but also well-documented and ready for production. We need your expertise here!

It would be fantastic if you have substantial experience creating AI, LLM, or advanced analytics solutions. This includes a good handle on prompt design, getting structured outputs, evaluating your work, monitoring performance, and importantly, using AI responsibly.

Having experience with tools and practices like Databricks, MLflow, MLOps, deployment, CI/CD, and testing, or other software delivery methods, would be a big plus.

We really need a senior professional who can jump in, work independently, and own projects from the very beginning all the way to the end. It's also important that you can lend your support and guidance to others on the team.

Strong collaboration skills are key. We're looking for someone who enjoys working alongside engineers, cybersecurity experts, and business stakeholders to achieve common goals.

And of course, being fluent in English, both speaking and writing, is a must for smooth communication.

Nice-to-haves:

• Having a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar quantitative field would be great.
• If you know your way around Identity & Access Management (IAM), especially areas like High Privilege Access, authorization management, and Privilege Session Management, that would be very beneficial.
• Experience working in a regulated industry like banking, financial services, risk, compliance, or cybersecurity is definitely a plus.
• Understanding LLM evaluation and safety practices, including structured outputs, testing, and basic guardrail implementation, would be a valuable asset.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
