Functie omschrijving

Hey there! Rabobank Utrecht is on the lookout for a Business Analyst specializing in Environmental Commodities Integration.

Here at Rabobank, we're really focused on making sure our digital experiences are consistent and scalable across all our products and services. To help with this, our designers use recurring design patterns to create experiences that are accessible, intuitive, and just make sense.

Our Rabobank Design System is pretty solid, but there's always room for improvement, especially when it comes to our patterns and platform conventions. Lots of these patterns are already out there, but the knowledge about them is a bit scattered – you'll find it in different files, across various implemented products, buried in past decisions, and sometimes just in the heads of our talented folks.

To really boost our design quality and consistency as we grow, we're searching for a seasoned designer who can bring all this distributed knowledge together into one unified source of truth. Your mission will be to solidify our design knowledge and make our standards super easy for everyone to find, understand, and use.

Your Role

As a designer within the Digital Platform team, which is part of the broader Chapter Design, you'll be instrumental in documenting, structuring, and standardizing reusable design patterns throughout Rabobank's digital world. Your main goal is to organize and document the design knowledge we already have, making it easily accessible and usable for designers, product teams, and other stakeholders. This will help cut down on duplicated effort, make important trade-offs crystal clear, and provide practical guidance so teams can make smarter design decisions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Dive into existing patterns, design standards, and platform guidelines across different products and teams.
  • Pinpoint and analyze the key sources of design knowledge, including chatting with designers and stakeholders, exploring Figma files, looking at implemented journeys, and reviewing current documentation.
  • Develop templates for documentation, specifying required fields, quality criteria, and writing guidelines.
  • Document high-priority UX patterns, covering aspects like:
    • Their purpose and why they're important
    • How to use them effectively
    • Accessibility considerations
    • Interaction principles
    • Trade-offs and limitations
    • Real-world product examples
  • Create clear links between patterns, user journeys, components, and any related documentation.
  • Highlight any conflicting implementations, decisions that are missing, or gaps in ownership.
  • Offer insights on which areas of knowledge and patterns might need further standardization or design exploration down the line.
  • Ensure the documentation is both easy for people to read and ready for AI-powered discovery and retrieval.

Together, We Achieve More

You'll be joining Chapter Design, Rabobank's internal design department. We're a diverse and inclusive bunch of over 100 creative professionals, with expertise in UX Design, Visual Design, Service Design, Strategy, and Research. What truly unites us is a culture fueled by curiosity, collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning. We have our own cool design studio in Utrecht, complete with workshop spaces and all the tools you'll need. We offer plenty of opportunities for you to grow your skills and bring your ideas to life.
