Hey there! At KPN's Logfile Management team, we're the wizards behind the scenes, building and running the awesome pipelines that handle all the logs and metrics at KPN. We make sure everything flows smoothly on our KPN Data Services Hub, serving up insights to both our external clients and KPN's own internal teams. Think security (SIEM!), keeping an eye on everything (observability), and making sure we're compliant – we've got it covered.
These aren't just any services; they're critical, running 24/7. We're not afraid to get our hands dirty – we build our own tools, fine-tune open-source components, and are fully responsible for everything we launch. We're on the hunt for an engineer who's got that sweet spot between crafting great software and really owning its operational side. If you love building awesome products as part of a collaborative team, this is for you. You'll be writing code, deploying it, running it at scale, and making sure it's always tip-top.
What you'll be doing:
- Crafting and maintaining super-fast data pipelines and services, mainly using Rust (with a sprinkle of Scala thrown in!).
- Setting up, enhancing, and managing our log and metrics tools, delivering them as a seamless service to our customers.
- Taking ownership of the entire journey: from dreaming up the design to building, deploying, running, and continuously improving.
- Tackling the operational nitty-gritty: ensuring rock-solid reliability, jumping into incident response, automating like a pro, and always striving for better.
- Using Grafana as our go-to "single pane of glass" to keep a watchful eye on our own platform.

Functie eisen
- Strong software engineering skills, preferably Rust and/or Scala
- Genuine affinity with operations: candidates who only want to write code are not a fit
- Team player who actively collaborates and wants to improve the product together
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps ways of working
- Fluent, professional-level English; Dutch strongly preferred
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset: this weighs as heavily as technical skills
- Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir), Logstash
- Kafka and streaming data architectures
- Kubernetes
- Certificate management (TLS/mTLS) for proxies
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls)

KPN’s Logfile Management team builds and operates the pipelines that move, process and store logs and metrics at scale, running on the KPN Data Services Hub. Our products serve both external customers and internal KPN teams, supporting use cases in security (SIEM), observability and compliance. These are critical 24/7 services: we build our own tooling, configure and extend open-source components, and run everything we ship ourselves.Arbeidsvoorwaarden
