About Our Stream-Aligned Teams
We have an exciting opportunity within one of our stream-aligned teams, and their main focus is delivering tangible business value. You'll collaborate closely with your business partners, both inside and outside the team, to fine-tune user stories. After that, you'll get to work on coding those features and ensuring they perform flawlessly in production. We leverage BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) to make sure our solutions are exactly what's needed!

We're looking for a Dev Engineer to join our team! If you're someone who thrives in a (Dutch) corporate or financial agile setting (think DevOps and Scrum), and you're always eager to learn new tech and programming languages quickly, you'll fit right in. We really value a proactive mindset – someone who isn't afraid to question the current way of doing things and can suggest improvements that boost quality, usability, and maintainability.
In this role, you'll be designing reusable code components and libraries that can be shared across various projects. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor less experienced team members, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow.
As part of the team, you'll also be included in our on-call rotation for support outside of regular office hours, which typically happens one week every 1-2 months. It's a great way to ensure everything runs smoothly, even after hours.
Here's what we consider essential:
- Proficiency in Java (specifically version 21) and Spring Boot (for API development).
- Solid understanding of software best practices like TDD, BDD, DDD, and clean code principles.
- Hands-on experience running software in production, including incident resolution and monitoring.
- Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience with (No-SQL) databases like Neo4J, DB2, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch. We're particularly keen on candidates with Neo4J experience!
- The ability to coach and guide less experienced team members.
- A proactive attitude and the capability to take the lead on technical direction.
We're looking for candidates with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience developing with Java and Spring technologies.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with AI tools, like working with Agents and Skills using GitHub Copilot.
- Specific Neo4J experience.
- Previous experience working at ING.
And don't worry, fluency in Dutch isn't a requirement for this position!
