The Phoenix Squad is all about innovation, building cutting-edge capabilities for our Office Network services. Think new services like IoT networking, platform upgrades such as migrating to Aruba New Central, and developing powerful automation, Infrastructure as Code, and internal platforms to streamline network operations. This is your chance to dive into an engineering-focused Agile role with minimal operational interruptions, where you'll be responsible for delivering scalable, future-proof solutions in a large enterprise environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing and delivering exciting new network features and services.
• Contributing your expertise to designs, standards, and reference architectures.
• Translating refined Product Backlog Items (PBIs) into robust technical solutions, working independently about 90% of the time.
• Building automation, Infrastructure as Code, and internal tools for seamless network deployment and management.
• Developing reusable code and integrating with APIs and external systems like a pro.
• Ensuring solutions are production-ready through thorough validation, testing, and pre/post checks.
• Staying involved after delivery to guarantee a smooth, high-quality handover to operations.
• Acting as the go-to expert (L3+) for tackling complex technical challenges.
• Collaborating closely with the Office Networking Squad to deliver solutions that are both maintainable and operable.
• Actively participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, driving backlog and roadmap delivery.

Must-Have Skills:

• A solid grasp of enterprise networking fundamentals.
• A good understanding of SD-WAN architectures, including overlays, underlying connectivity (IPsec, segmentation, routing behaviour).
• Hands-on experience with authentication and NAC concepts (like 802.1X, RADIUS, and a ClearPass-level understanding).
• Strong Python development skills – we're talking structured, reusable code, not just basic scripting.
• Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and/or internal tools.
• Proficiency with REST APIs and system integration.
• Extensive experience with Git-based workflows.
• The ability to own features from refinement all the way through to delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to constructively challenge design decisions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Aruba SD-Branch, Aruba Central, and/or Aruba ClearPass (or similar enterprise networking/SD-WAN/NAC platforms).
• Experience in designing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (beyond just using it).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• An understanding of broader infrastructure contexts and how to integrate with other platforms/services.
• Experience with Kong API gateway.
• Knowledge of AzDo pipelines and Azure functions.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
