We're on the lookout for a Senior Project Manager (Terminal) for the Schiphol Group!

Portfolio Delivery

At Portfolio Delivery, we're all about supporting the Royal Schiphol Group's mission and goals. We manage projects in the complex airport environment, working closely with clients, users, operators, contractors, and advisors. Our priority is to minimize disruption to operational processes. With around 400 colleagues, we focus on executing projects in infrastructure, installations, interiors, and utility construction safely and sustainably.

Connecting your world

You'll be handling unique, critical, and large-scale projects essential for keeping Schiphol Airport running smoothly. You'll collaborate with main contractors, other construction partners, architects, advisors, your clients, and various stakeholders within and outside the Schiphol Group. In essence, you'll be connecting the Netherlands to the rest of the world!

And how will you achieve this? That's up to you! At Schiphol Group, we trust your talents, including your ability to set a clear direction and stick to it. As a Project Manager, you'll leverage your skills to drive action and achieve these key objectives:

  • You'll maintain a clear overview, lead the charge (focusing on direction rather than just technical details), and, together with your team, make a significant contribution to the final project outcome and the satisfaction of your clients and stakeholders.
  • You'll be the face of the project, responsible for guiding the project team, facilitating internal decision-making, managing a complex stakeholder landscape, and overseeing the entire project within its budgetary and scheduling constraints. It's important to delegate responsibilities appropriately where needed.
  • You'll be adept at managing technical and operational challenges, translating them effectively for both the project's executive level and your broader network.

For this exciting role, you'll join the Terminal team within Schiphol Projects. Here, dedicated project managers are tackling challenging projects in and around the airport terminals.

Functie Eisen

You've got this! Here's what we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience (over 10 years) as a client-side project manager for large, complex construction-related projects in an operational setting (budget exceeding €30 million).
  • A technical Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field like Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Installation Technology, or Civil Engineering. Plus, project management training/certification (IPMA and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner) is a big plus!

Just a heads-up:

  • For this role at Schiphol, a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required. The cost (€33.85) will be covered by the supplier/entrepreneur.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
