For Rabobank in Utrecht, we're on the hunt for a sharp Subject Matter Expert in Crypto & Digital Assets! If you thrive on working independently, love collaborating with stakeholders, and are ready to dive into a department that's buzzing with change, this is your chance.

We're on a mission within Financial Economic Crime (FEC) and Transaction Monitoring to become the absolute best at managing the exciting new financial crime risks that come with Digital Assets and Crypto. As we navigate this transformation, we need your expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Crypto & Digital Assets. You'll be a crucial player in our Global SIRA, RAS, and policy development, ensuring we're on top of identifying, assessing, mitigating, and governing all things crypto, digital assets, CASPs, and related tech.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:

Your main gig? Developing, maintaining, and leveling up our FEC policies, risk frameworks, controls, and monitoring approaches for all Crypto and Digital Asset activities. You'll be our go-to expert on everything digital asset ecosystems, regulatory shifts, financial crime risks, and how to combat them, guiding strategic decisions and implementation across the bank.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Crafting and maintaining robust risk and control frameworks for Digital Asset and Crypto risks – think money laundering, sanctions evasion, fraud, market manipulation, market abuse, and all those other sneaky financial crime threats.
• Designing control measures that are smart, effective, and leverage the latest tech and data analytics, whether they're manual or automated.
• Being the trusted advisor everyone turns to! You'll guide operational teams, policy owners, and senior management with expert advice on digital assets, tricky cases, emerging risks, and what regulators expect.

Your Impactful Deliverables:

• Global insights and expert advice for Digital Asset and Crypto-related FEC Assessments.
• Providing top-notch professional advice, both requested and unprompted, to FEC, Compliance, Risk, business teams, and senior management.
• Developing and maintaining the vital FEC policies, standards, and governance frameworks for Digital Assets.
• Keeping a pulse on regulatory, industry, and tech developments, translating them into risk assessments, policy tweaks, and better controls.
• Defining and documenting those critical risk mitigation controls.
• Spearheading the implementation of new controls and enhancing existing ones across FEC and business functions.
• Contributing to rolling out and making global procedures, standards, and policies for Digital Assets a reality.
• Creating compelling narratives that showcase how we identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate crypto and digital asset risks.
• Championing strategic initiatives around Digital Assets, Tokenization, Stablecoins, and cutting-edge financial tech.
• Boosting the organization's expertise through coaching, training, knowledge sharing, and awareness sessions.

Reporting Your Success:

You'll regularly report on our risk exposure, mitigation efforts, control effectiveness, and the latest happenings in the Digital Asset and Crypto world. Plus, you'll weave a compelling story that highlights how we master Digital Asset financial crime risks while keeping innovation, customer needs, and regulatory compliance in perfect balance.

In your personal motivation letter, we want to see how you embody the required competencies. We're looking for 1 FTE for 6 months, working 36 hours a week in a hybrid setup in Utrecht. We're keen to get started ASAP! And yes, we're open to ZZP applications too!

A quick heads-up: we're seeking someone with extensive crypto experience. Your skills in policy writing, oversight, and advising are key here – this role is more about strategy and less about day-to-day operations. If we find the perfect fit early, we might close the role before the deadline.

• Deep Dive into CASPs: You're well-versed in Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs), Crypto Exchanges, Custodians, Stablecoins, and the innovative world of Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
• Regulatory Guru: You have a solid grasp of the key regulatory and supervisory frameworks like MiCA, AMLD, FATF Guidance, Travel Rule requirements, and global Crypto regulations.
• Risk Mitigation Expert: You've got hands-on experience designing and implementing robust risk mitigation frameworks, policies, and controls for Digital Asset businesses or financial institutions.
• Tech & Analytics Whiz: You're comfortable with blockchain analytics, transaction monitoring solutions, and digital asset risk management methodologies.

• A Master's degree or equivalent experience that demonstrates a high level of thinking and working.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in Financial Services, Compliance, Risk Management, Financial Crime, Digital Assets, or Emerging Technologies.
• Proven expertise in Crypto, Blockchain, Tokenization, Financial Markets, or related fields.
• A track record of successfully managing complex regulatory, risk, or transformation initiatives.
