We are seeking a talented SRE/DevOps Engineer with expertise in the Grafana stack and OpenTelemetry for our client in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain observability platforms leveraging Grafana OSS/Enterprise and related components (Prometheus/Mimir, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry).
• Define, collect, and track key monitoring KPIs for system performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, and reporting to provide actionable insights for engineering and operations teams.
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to instrument services for metrics, logs, and traces.
• Integrate observability solutions with incident management, alerting, and notification systems.
• Optimize data retention, storage, and query performance in monitoring systems.
• Establish best practices and governance for monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot observability infrastructure and provide support during critical incidents.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience with the Grafana stack (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus/Mimir).

Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry for instrumentation and data collection.

Experience defining and monitoring KPIs for infrastructure (CPU, memory, network, storage), applications, and service-level objectives (SLOs/SLIs).

Hands-on experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

Solid understanding of networking, distributed systems, and application performance monitoring (APM).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with enterprise observability or monitoring solutions (Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, New Relic) as a plus.

Familiarity with incident management processes (ServiceNow).

Strong communication and documentation skills to engage with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions

This job role is split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a 75%/25% distribution. Some changes are planned outside business hours to minimize impact on the business. This job vacancy is for the location Utrecht (NL).
