Job Opportunity: Business Architect - Data & Analytics
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Architect specializing in Data & Analytics. In this role, you will serve as the Area Architect for the Area Enterprise Data Products within the Tribe D&A Products & Transformation. You will be responsible for defining the target architecture at the area level that supports our product vision.
The Area Enterprise Data Products is dedicated to realizing key data products. These products are utilized by multiple consumers across various business domains, aiming to reduce time to market, enhance cost efficiency, and improve the quality of business solutions. We adopt a product-oriented mindset to ensure that every design of a data product begins with the data consumer's value in mind. This area includes the Client Data Foundation, which offers numerous historical viewpoints and properties of our customers. Another notable example is the Customer Liquid Asset Position, which aggregates end-of-day balances for all products (liquid assets) within Rabobank. A key challenge in this role is to guide the future direction of our enterprise data products portfolio, aligning it with business needs while ensuring ease of use and scalability.
As the Area Architect, you will manage the area alongside the Area Lead and Tech Lead. You will closely collaborate with solution architects in the area, where you will align on the area vision, execute the architecture strategy & roadmaps, and contribute to our organizational purpose. Your responsibility will involve guiding teams toward optimal results in a future-proof architecture, fostering a supportive environment to keep each other motivated and help one another where possible.

Your Role in the Architecture Department
The architecture department, consisting of over 100 members, is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing Rabobank's IT strategy and architecture to support the bank's long-term goals in commercial, efficiency, and risk areas. We work as a cohesive team, valuing the strength of diversity to enhance our operations. We are eager to see what you can bring to our team. You will be part of the 10-member D&A-architecture team, which sets the architectural direction for the Data & Analytics Products & Transformation and the Global Data & Analytics Platform Tribes. We collaborate closely with Solution Architects from Tech4D&A, believing that architecture should be a collective responsibility.
Practical Examples of Activities
- Develop an information architecture for bank-wide client data in collaboration with your team, business and IT stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Create and communicate an architectural vision on data products for unstructured data, aligning with business stakeholders, architects, and the Chapter Global Data Management.
- Mentor and coach approximately six solution architects within the Area Enterprise Data Products.

Top Selection Criteria
- Minimum 7 years working experience in relevant roles, with at least 3 years of architecture experience in a complex data & analytics environment.
- You have experience with the concept of data as a product.
- You are comfortable in a leading role and can provide coaching and guidance to a team of Solution Architects.
Other Requirements
- Ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms, with a skill to influence and persuade others while maintaining an open mindset.
- Practical experience with architecture methods and techniques.
- You have a helicopter view, overseeing a wide domain and understanding the consequences certain (design) decisions have on both business and IT.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business & IT leaders and colleague architects.
- Language: English mandatory, Dutch is a plus.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
