As a Platform Engineer in the Core Integration Platform team, you will be part of the central nervous system, acting as the vital link that transforms Schiphol into a fully autonomous airport. - Ensuring the reliability and scalability of our integration platforms, crucial for airport functionality.

- Collaborating with technology and business teams to design, develop, and maintain integration solutions that improve operational efficiency and enable automation through CI practices.
In the Core Integration Platform team, we don’t just move data; we power the entire aviation ecosystem. You’ll manage our high-performance Airport Service Bus (ASB), the "always-on" backbone that keeps Schiphol moving. From KLM to Air Traffic Control, every major player depends on us. As the engineer of these vital connections, you’ll ensure that hundreds of parties exchange mission-critical information in real-time, making you the true nexus of our journey toward an autonomous airport.
About the team
The IT & Data department is creating the airport of the future. We do this by using the smartest digital solutions, tools, and applications. With state-of-the-art technology, we keep the airport running. Our enthusiastic team works on data-driven improvements in our processes, passenger flows, and information provision. Requirements

For this position, you have:
- Minimal 5 years of experience in developing Java integrations
- Experience with the Quarkus framework and Apache Camel
- Experience with unit-testing and integration-testing (Preferred: experience with Cucumber and/or test-containers)
- Hands-on experience with container technologies such as OpenShift, Docker, or AKS
- Networking: (Preferred: experience with Nginx)
- Linux: (Preferred: experience with RHEL)
- Messaging: (Preferred: AMQ, Kafka, JMS)
- Monitoring and Observability: (Preferred: Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Observability Cloud)
- CI/CD: (Preferred: Maven, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Ansible, Helm, and/or ArgoCD)

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
