Scala Engineer Opportunity in Amsterdam

For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Scala Engineer with expertise in ITIL, CI/CD, Linux, and Testing.

We are on the hunt for a Scala engineer who possesses modern engineering skills and competencies, including a keen eye for innovation, creativity, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

The Team

The products and services we provide are essential for the everyday financial needs of our customers. Without access to their data during all banking journeys, customers would be unable to see their information, perform transactions on their accounts, close mortgages, or obtain business loans. Simply put, all journeys would falter without access to customers' data.

To ensure our customers are empowered, we also facilitate smooth management of their personal information (such as name, address, etc.) along with roles and mandates, catering to both businesses and private individuals. We are responsible for developing web features that deliver a best-in-class digital experience to our customers. Within the Customer Data team, we oversee all digital flows that manage customer data through self-service and assisted services. Hence, one can confidently say that the products and services from Customer Data are the oxygen of all customer interactions with the bank.

Job Description

As a Dev Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that everything we do retains high quality and stability, all while keeping compliance at the forefront. Your responsibilities will include daily activities such as building products, automating tests, monitoring, engaging in standby, incident and change management, developing test strategies, overseeing automated deployments, and providing support for the application in the production environment.

Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 6 months +
Location: Amsterdam
Note: This role is not suitable for zzp.

Requirements

What We Expect From You

Education:
Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering

Experience:
At least 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating highly scalable, secure, and high-performance applications

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Scala, Finagle, and Cats
- ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
- Experience with CI/CD practices and Azure Pipeline
- Agile team experience with SCRUM
- Linux knowledge
- Testing skills
- Proficiency in using Test Automation Frameworks for defining and running automated tests

Mindset & Soft Skills

  • Automation mindset
  • Proactive attitude, always on the lookout for improving your and our way of working
  • Diplomacy and good communication skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities
