Job Profile Security Operational Officer

The operational security officer is responsible for ensuring safety and security within an organization. This includes implementing and enforcing security measures, monitoring compliance with safety protocols, and responding to security incidents. The objective of the role is to ensure the safety and security of the organization, including employees, buildings, data, and systems, by executing and managing operational security procedures.

Responsibilities

Security Management:

Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
Monitoring compliance with security measures and protocols within the organization.

Risk Assessment:

Conducting security risk analyses and making recommendations for improvements.
Identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities and proposing proactive measures.

Incident Response:

Responding to security incidents and emergencies, coordinating incident management, and conducting investigations into incidents.
Collaborating with internal and external parties to resolve security incidents.

Access Control:

Managing and controlling access rights to the organization’s facilities and information.
Implementing physical security measures such as surveillance systems and access control systems.

Reporting:

Preparing reports on the security status of the organization, including incidents, risk analyses, and recommendations for improvements.
Informing management about security issues and solutions.

Working within the Identity Services Department

Start Date: As soon as possible

End Date: 1-09-2026 (with an option for extension)

Location: Apeldoorn/Arnhem, hybrid (From Apeldoorn to Arnhem in the course of 2026, Q1/Q2)

Number of hours per week: 32-40 hours

Proficiency in the Dutch language is required

Requirements

Wanted: Experienced Expert in Security & Compliance

We are looking for an experienced (Dutch and English speaking) expert in the field of security & compliance. You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience and possess HBO work and thinking level. To be successful in this role, here is the kind of profile we have in mind:

Education: HBO work and thinking level, preferably in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Cybersecurity).
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an operational IT security role.
Specializations: Experience with security issues in the focus areas of PKI government, E-Recognition, certificates, and high secure environments is required.
Knowledge Areas:
- Knowledge of physical security, such as access control, cameras, alarm, and detection systems.
- Knowledge of crisis and incident management.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as webtrust, ETSI, PKI.
Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM are a must.
Skills: You are good at keeping an overview and ensure that all obligations of the team and partners are met on time. You work in a structured manner and can switch at different levels.
