About the Role
Yusen Logistics is introducing a new IT SecOps Engineer position to strengthen its cybersecurity posture across Europe. This role will act as the bridge between Yusen and its parent company NYK’s security team, ensuring alignment on security policies and hands-on implementation of security measures.
The ideal candidate combines technical security expertise with policy and governance knowledge. You will investigate vulnerabilities, propose solutions, and implement changes where necessary. This is a hands-on role with strategic influence, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Yusen’s representative in the security space, liaising with NYK’s security team.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats using SIEM and vulnerability management tools.
- Investigate vulnerabilities, advise on remediation, and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and maintain security policies and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Configure and maintain security tools (firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection).
- Automate security processes and improve operational efficiency through scripting.
- Document incidents, procedures, and generate reports for stakeholders.
Location: Netherlands (1–2 days per week on-site, flexible across Yusen offices)
Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

Technical Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years in Information Security or IT with strong security exposure. Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools (Rapid7 or similar) is essential. Familiarity with antivirus/threat protection tools (TrendMicro or Microsoft Defender) is required. Knowledge of SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection solutions is a must. A strong understanding of Azure security is important; experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or GCP is a plus. Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell or Python for automation and integration is highly valued. Experience in incident response, forensics, and malware analysis is an advantage. Having security certifications (Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Security) is a bonus.
Soft Skills
The ability to balance hands-on technical work with policy and governance responsibilities is crucial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed, along with excellent communication skills in English to present effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in an international environment will set you apart!
